Bijloke Summer Academy
Bijloke Summer Academy is an initiative by six partners, all physically located at the Bijlokesite in Ghent.
The partnership includes LOD music theatre (production house), Music Centre De Bijloke (venue), Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK) & Royal Conservatory Ghent, SPECTRA Ensemble (contemporary music ensemble) JazzLab (concert organiser) and International Opera Academy.
All partners are involved in the international fields of contemporary music theatre and transmedial performance. Their ways of working within the scene are different yet highly complementary as organisational forces of Bijloke Summer Academy – Music Theatre.

What
The Summer Academy workshop involves a coaching of young makers, artistic teams and ensembles who are eager to develop an artistic idea within the field of music theatre (which can integrate contemporary classical, popular music, jazz…) and/or transmedial performance.
Aanbod
Bijloke Summer Academy - Music Theatre offers coaching by highly renowned artists and a professional new music ensemble with the technical and logistic support of a well-equipped production house and music venue. All participants are offered a stay between 1 and 2 weeks in Ghent and a rehearsal space in one of the performance halls at the Bijloke site.
Bijloke Summer Academy takes place in Ghent, Belgium, between August 25th and September 9th 2018. The organisations provide accommodation, catering and reimbursement of travel costs.
